55 year old female with Hypertension hand a fracture neck of femur and underwent surgery today. Post Dynamic Hip Screw surgery, Day 1. Plan nutrition for the next one week (10 marks)

In a 40 minutes question, this should be given 16 mins. 4 mins for planning. 12 for writing.

Anaesthesia is Spinal.

Immediate post op period - IV fluids for a long surgery, oral zips after 2 hours, semi solid food in 6 hours, solid food afterwards.

Day 1 - Avoid constipation (how?) as bed ridden, hydrate well- else UTI.
Then gradual increase of amount.
For blood loss - Iron, b12, FA containing food - what?

For wound healing - high quality pro, Zn, Vit c - what?

Hypertension - Describe HT and atherosclerosis dietary recommendations.

Long term - Calcium for osteoporosis, Iron,, HT diet, weight reduction with diet

Describe the above points suitable for an essay in - 400-500 words
